I must say I fell victim to feeling like I had to emulate my boss, who puts the job almost above all else. I thought I'd win some brownie points for working hard even though I was sick. Stupid stupid me.
Churlita, I'll watch the other sometime and let you know - likely you are correct that the original is better.NoRegretshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13240929627271129160noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5356367299414474663.post-18984105598022493332007-12-10T21:59:00.000-08:002007-12-10T21:59:00.000-08:00I'm afraid to watch the new Hairspray. I'm afraid the new one will be too watered down and not enough John Waters.Churlitahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05018288474865559384noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5356367299414474663.post-52405912726260138422007-12-10T20:34:00.000-08:002007-12-10T20:34:00.000-08:00I actually quit a job because they thought I shoul...I actually quit a job because they thought I should have come in to work even though I was sick. It was a job as a receptionist for a veterinarian office, which means I was constantly touching things that other people would touch and passing papers and pens and such back and forth to our clients' owners...my germs would have been unavoidable, and I could not in good conscience continue working somewhere that couldn't value their employees' or patrons' health more than my being gone a couple days. It may have been "just a cold" (which it actually was more of an infection that I was concerned would land me back in brochitis land), but a cold slows people down, and I think it should be more important to have one person gone for a couple days than to infect your entire staff and have everyone be less productive for several weeks as the illness spread.

Whew...that struck a chord, huh? ;>Celebrate Woo-Woohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09707970217013836008noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5356367299414474663.post-68050092354633169922007-12-10T20:30:00.000-08:002007-12-10T20:30:00.000-08:00Sick people at work suck, and I am already OCD whe...Sick people at work suck, and I am already OCD when it comes to germs!!!
