Carrie Fisher: Wishful Drinking
Yes, that Carrie Fisher. Sardonic through and through. A couple times I laughed out loud, though it should have been more - again I read it too fast. Short and quick.
Gabriel Garcia Marquez: Memories of My Melancholy Whores
Really beautiful. A short read (115 pages). Because it's so short I hesitate to say much - a poet's take on aging and love.
Tana French: In the Woods
I wrote on FB after finishing this that sometimes I just want to read books that aren't like real life. Again, hard to explain without giving anything away. The first chapter was irritating because it was so flowery and unnecessary big words I thought, but then it calmed down and was well done.

I've read the Carrie Fisher book. I like her books, although sometimes there is a frustrating feeling of smugness about kind of awful ways she's acted.
I am a big GGM fan and I did think Memories of My Melancholy Whores was beautiful.
In the Woods, I haven't read. I went and read the description and it sounds like something I would enjoy. Better put it on my "to be read" list :-)
I think I'd enjoy Carrie Fisher's book. I love books that bring out my emotions.
Glad I'm finding books for you to read Laura! You should recommend some...seems you are a big reader.
Tara, hmm... that's interesting. All type of emotions?
Once again, thanks for the book list. I want to read the Marquez for sure.
