And, note for the day, remember to learn which button on your work phone controls the mute/unmute. Especially when you are the convener for a conference call with 20 people on it, and when you press the wrong button, it disconnects everyone. Ack!

Yes, of course I left home for a few hours/days here and there (don't be a wise ass! :) ). I mean for a few weeks, or more if possible - long enough to see that there's a world beyond the insane asylum that family can be. Based on what you've written about yourself, I think you will understand what I mean by this.

Speaking of which, I empathize strongly with your "What makes me tick" post. For what it's worth.

Did you put people on hold on your telephone when you left home? Is that how it's connected? :-)

Yes, come to think of it I should hang up that phone at some point, it's been fifteen years...

I don't know how many times I have disconnected from conf calls by trying to press the mute button. It is particuarly bad when you have been called, and have no idea how to reach the other people again. But then, I think that this is better than thinking that you have pressed the mute button, but you haven't and you start commenting on how boring the call is!.

Yeah, I had to keep reminding myself I wasn't on mute, though for me it was more because of eating, drinking, eeping noises.

eeping noises??? dare i ask?

eeping noises - well, I make noises after I eat most of the time. I think technically it's a reflux thing, but I've never been diagnosed or anything. Things just get shifted around and I eep. Been doing it since I was a baby.
