In Keeping with the Food theme - Egg McMuffin Man

A Southern California McDonald's restaurants official says Egg McMuffin inventor Herb Peterson has died in Santa Barbara at age 89.

Peterson came up with idea for the signature McDonald's breakfast item in 1972.

He began his career with McDonald's as vice president of the company's advertising firm, D'Arcy Advertising, in Chicago. He wrote McDonald's first national advertising slogan, "Where Quality Starts Fresh Every Day," and eventually became a franchisee.

I must say, I do love an egg mcmuffin once in a while. Every couple years is all my body can take.

A co-worker brought one to me a few weeks ago. I hadn't had one in maybe twenty years. I'm a little ashamed to say that it tasted pretty good to me.

I turned down the last one someone offered me. I cannot choke fast food down at all. I have not eaten any McProduct in about 10 years.

i don't remember the last time i had an egg mcmuffin. i don't usually go to fast food joints for breakfast. one of the gas stations on my way to work has bagels w/cream cheese (real honest to goodness ~philly~ cream cheese and wonderful fresh bagels) for a buck fifty. on the rare occasions i do stop somewhere for breakfast it's usually there.
