Things I need to hear

From a friend of my husband who I wrote to today:

I really appreciate you letting me know - it says a lot about how much you
do care about him, even if it's not in the way that keeps people together.
I just feel terrible for you both. There's no bad guys in divorce - no one
should hate you, so please don't even think that. No one is in your shoes
but you. Things either work out or they don't. You both deserve to lead happy lives.
Best of luck.

Your husband's friend sounds very wise and very cool.

with any luck all 'joint friends' will feel the same way.

You two just could not "work it out" anymore. Why stay together and ruin each other's lives.

Yes, he needs to realize that.
Heather - none of our friends smoke joints.
EE - yeah, I know. Grieving happens in stages...

Very few of Mama and Papa G's friends "picked one' except for people that were only truly liked by one of them anyway. If the rest of his friends are even half that cool I'll think you'll be ok with them.
I know you'll be ok with you.
