Cleverness has left the building

I'm very tired. Physically, emotionally. But on the positive side, and I will try and keep it on the positive side, I am no longer a nomad, and my cat now lives with me and has already adjusted.

The wonderful woman at Ryder truck semi-convinced me to take a 24 foot truck (or whatever a big truck is). I have a lot of shit. It all fit in the truck without having to squeeze things in. I had many helpers, and thankfully one was my door guy friend who used to drive a tractor trailer, since my street is one way with cars on either side and narrow.

Only one casualty - a 3 inch scratch on the new floors. Which look AMAZING by the way. Lots of character and well done. Trouble is they are spewing off fumes which I hope go away soon. I'm not getting high off them, just getting headaches, darn it. He said he used environmentally friendly stuff, but just sanding them sends off fumes, or whatever the explanation was.

So all my stuff is in the place, but I don't know how to organize it, and I can't move stuff around on my own. Well, I guess I can - I just need to buy lots of pads for the furniture feet. My kitchen is still a mess - I have to work on that. Last night for dinner I had two bags of chips and a clif bar, and this morning a piece of bread and a cup of juice. My workout this morning sucked as a result. I bought myself an english muffin egg sandwich and ate it and it feels like I still haven't eaten anything.

Oops, I've slipped into whining. I am very excited. Just a tad overwhelmed. But one bit at a time, slowly slowly.

There will be a party here tomorrow for my birthday, so get your dancin' shoes ready.

And look out for the Perseid meteor shower!!!
METEOR ALERT: The Perseid meteor shower is underway and should reach its peak during the next 24 hours. Forecasters say the best time to look is during the dark hours before dawn on Tuesday, August 12th. The glaring Moon sets around 2:00 a.m., and that's when the Perseids could appear in numbers as high as 60 per hour. The best displays will be seen from rural areas with dark skies. Sky maps, photos and more information are available at http://spaceweather.com.

Congrats NoR!

Ooh ooh, can I come smell your floors?!?!?

P.S. I have granted your request, get your ass over there and read the first tidbit about Wal-Mart Guy...how's that for subtlety?!

Well, at least you're in and the rest will come in the fullness of time. Enjoy your party and watch the meteors from your new windows!

I'm happy to hear you're no longer nomad. Don't worry about arranging it'll all come together pretty quickly. Especially if you make people help you tomorrow during your birthday party.

Here's the site I use for my star gazing guidance: http://www.skyandtelescope.com/observing/ataglance

I decided I might as well comment being that Susan is taking the week off, and you ask the real tough questions.

Gracias Suzanne!
Tera, please come smell my floors. And I'll go hang out with Walmart guy.
Puss, yes. But I'd love a magic fairy to come and poof have it all be done.
Hey Voice of Reason! Thanks for visiting. You should go visit Tera's blog - she's giving Susan a run for her money.

So, you're trying to pass me off on someone else.

At least I'm not trying to pass you off AS someone else.

Just trying to keep you entertained, my dear.

Woo Hoo a meteor shower you sure know how to throw a party. I think giving a part before you move in is the best move.

I threw a graduation party for my BFF and I still had stuff at my moms and boxes in my garage (actually I still have boxes in my garage and spare bedroom)

I'm thinking you will be unpacked long before I am. Imma throw a party when I get back too, how do I arrange the meteor shower for my party? *lol*

I'm with Vor, have people move your stuff for you at your birthday party. Just make sure they do it before they start drinking.

Happy birhtday!

You do know the birthday party is just virtual? Be here or be square!

You will be settled in before you know it. Congratulations on becoming sedentary!

damn glad to hear things went well and that you are starting to settle...you needed things to break in your direction and deserved it

I have seen the meteors before, unfortunately my tired ass is going to sleep tonight.
