Make the World Go Away

Sing it Eddie (introduced by Minnie Pearl):

Not climbing doesn't make it go away, it just means you're stuck in your own little world in your head. Sitting in front of the tv for two hours doesn't make it go away. It just puts it on hold. Overeating doesn't make it go away - it just makes you fat. Sleeping doesn't make it go away - it just brings a new day. Going to therapy doesn't make it go away - it just shines a light on it.

What is therapy for these days? Not sure. It's just been too long since I've been - a whole month. A month in which a lot has happened emotionally and which I've had to handle 'on my own'. So I list my accomplishments and don't have time for the sadness. Which hangs around and doesn't go away, completely at least.

I need to get to this, on my own:

You don't want the world to go away, do you? Maybe you just want it to chill the F out a bit for a while?

I want my world to go away sometimes so I don't have to process everything I'm going through and deal with it. But, all those methods I listed don't really make it go away. Chilling helps? not sure... Iguess it does.

Hmmm... meditation? Massage? j/k. Well, if not climbing doesn't work, maybe climbing will? Yoga really did it for me last night; I suspect climbing might have the same effect for you.

I have the same question about therapy sometimes. (Although my current question about therapy is whether I'm dumb enough to ride my bike to my appointment today... yes, probably I am.)

The Death Star... that would make the world go away. C;) OR, it seems, two centuries of human industrial activity.

It is my experience that we cannot stop the processing, we can only learn to do it on our own terms. That's why I write and blog. Have a better day. C:)

I tried to drink the world away. That, my dear, I know doesn't work. It's always there waiting when you sober up.

Squirrel - har... no fair throwing it right back at me. And I say BIKE! just use a face mask.

Craig, har to you too... I wrote that last night. Today is better. Funny how the new morning sometimes helps.

Susan, I could never do that. I hate feeling physically like shit.

Took your advice and biked with a balaclava... glad I did! It's not that bad out there if you're layered.

I am all for making the world go away temporarily! When I am reading and enjoying a good book, the world disappears. Thus, my addiction to it.

Not you chilling, I was talking about the world chilling - like wouldn't it be great to put everything on hold for a minute to have a breather? it would still be there, just not so in-your-face. Watching movies works like that for me sometimes. Escapism is one of my favorite drugs of choice.

Revolving around the sun makes the world go away at 66600 mph. But since there's this pesky thing called gravity that enslaves us, we always go away with it.

And even if we could stay in one spot and let the earth zoom away, it would smack us on the other side a year later.

Carly Simon completely rules.

It's rare--but sometimes Mr. A. and I agree. LOL ;-)

It's a process and a half--and you're learning to do it in your own way.
NOT that it's always a fun lesson......I know this.
But it seems to be 'required' whether I like it or not.

Inches and seconds....bit by bit...

And today, let the sun shine upon you and bless you......
